Preview: American Canyon Wolves vs. Vintage Crushers

American Canyon has been on the road for three straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. Having just played yesterday, they will get right back to it and host the Vintage Crushers at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th. American Canyon will be strutting in after a win while Vintage will be coming in after a loss.

On Monday, American Canyon beat Vallejo 57-48. Given American Canyon's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 179th, while Vallejo is ranked 544th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Vintage was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 47-43 to Napa.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Brady Hearn, who scored ten points. Nathan Marroquin was another key contributor, scoring ten points.

American Canyon pushed their record up to 12-5 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Vintage, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.

American Canyon didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Vintage in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 65-59 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Vintage's Ben Jackson, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Now that he won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be that much easier for American Canyon to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
