Baseball Recap: Ponchatoula Comes Up Short

Ponchatoula was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 9-8 heartbreaker at the hands of the Franklinton Demons. On the bright side, the eight- run performance marked the Green Wave's highest-scoring matchup to date.

Ponchatoula's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Franklinton, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Coming up, Ponchatoula is taking a road trip to face off against Pearl River at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Rebels' pitching crew has only allowed one run per game this season, so the Green Wave's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Franklinton, they will square off against Northshore at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Demons surely won't give up without a fight.
