Basketball Recap: Middle Township Piles Up the Points Against Millville

On WednesdayMillville kept up with Middle Township until halftime, but afterwards: not so much. The Middle Township Panthers took their game with ease, bagging a 59-28 win over the Millville Thunderbolts. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 54th, while the Thunderbolts are ranked 312th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Middle Township's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Amir Elston led the charge by as he made all 6 shots he took to post 17 points. That's the most points Elston has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamir McNeil, who posted ten points along with five assists and four steals.

Middle Township's victory bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Millville, their loss was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-15.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Middle Township has already played their next match (against Ocean City), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Millville is taking a road trip to challenge Mainland Regional at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
