Basketball Recap: Charlton County Takes a Loss

Charlton County lost against Clinch County back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Charlton County Indians took a 46-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Clinch County Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 425th, while the Panthers are ranked 167th).

Despite the loss, Charlton County still got an impressive performance from Christian Brown, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 13 boards. Those 13 rebounds gave Brown a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Trevan Cobb, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 boards.

Charlton County has been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 14 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season. As for Clinch County, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-2.

Charlton County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 52-44 defeat against Atkinson County on the 1st. Clinch County has also already played their next game, a 59-56 win against Turner County on the 1st.
