Football Preview: Tate Aggies vs. Pace Patriots

Tate is 2-7 against Pace since October of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Aggies will host the Patriots at 7:00 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 29-26 win over Navarre. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Aggies' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 111th, while the Raiders are ranked 238th).

Tate found their leader in sophomore Tanner Clark, who rushed for 192 yards and three touchdowns. Those 192 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Clark. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Laquarius Bradford, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.
Tate was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 266 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2024.
Meanwhile, Pace entered their tilt with Madison County on Friday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Cowboys 20-18. Those 20 points were actually the fewest the Patriots have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.
Pace's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Tate, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 5-1.
Tate was taken down by Pace 42-7 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024.
