Football Game Preview: South Point Pointers vs. Gallia Academy Blue Devils

South Point is 0-9 against Gallia Academy since October of 2016 but things could change on Friday. The Pointers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 41-13, which was the final score in South Point's tilt against Portsmouth on Friday.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 41 points the game before, Gallia Academy was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They were dealt a 56-7 defeat at the hands of Ironton. The Blue Devils haven't had much luck with the Fighting Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

South Point's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Gallia Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 3-6.

South Point took a serious blow against Gallia Academy in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 49-12. Thankfully for the Pointers, Braylan Rathburn (who threw for 244 yards and four TDs on only 17 passes, and also rushed for 49 yards) won't be suiting up this time.
