Football Game Preview: Sultana Sultans vs. Hesperia Scorpions

The Sultana Sultans will challenge the Hesperia Scorpions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sultana is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.

Sultana is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Oak Hills on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Sultans were dealt a 63-6 loss at the hands of the Bulldogs. The Sultans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-0.

Although Sultana took the loss, they still got scores from Rafa . and Joanathan Silva.

Meanwhile, Hesperia fought the good fight in their overtime game against Serrano on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They and the Diamondbacks were almost perfectly matched up, but they suffered a 36-35 defeat.

Sultana will need to focus on slowing down Zamar Malveaux, one of several Hesperia players who made an impact when they last played. He rushed for 113 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Da'Lon Williams, who rushed for 133 yards and one TD on only 15 carries.

Hesperia's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Sultana, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.
