Recap: Pawhuska Huskies vs. Woodland Cougars
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Glenpool, the Pawhuska Huskies were happy to have found some success on Monday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 53-18 victory over Woodland. Given Pawhuska's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 129th, while the Cougars are ranked 323rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Pawhuska was led to victory by Hannah Reynolds and Fallon Bowman. Reynolds scored 13 points along with four steals and three blocks, while Bowman scored 19 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Vashae Housley, who scored six points along with five steals.
Pawhuska is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Woodland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-11.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pawhuska will take on the Wolverines at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Garber will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Woodland, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Rockets at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
