Hilltop waltzed into their match on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Rock Academy Warriors. That's more bragging rights for the Lancers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

If you add up the scores from across all four sets (92-91) Hilltop actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The final score came out to 25-20, 11-25, 30-28, 25-19.

Loss or not, Rock Academy got some senior leadership from Aliya Landes and Alexa Baird. Landes had nine kills, two aces, and one block, while Baird had 11 kills and four blocks. Baird has been hot for a while, having posted six or more kills the last 15 times she's played.

Hilltop's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Rock Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Hilltop will challenge El Capitan at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Rock Academy, they will square off against Canyon Hills at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
