Baseball Game Preview: Boise Brave vs. Owyhee Storm

Boise is 0-3 against Owyhee since April of 2022 but things could change on Thursday. The Brave will head out to square off against the Storm at 6:30 p.m. Boise has given up an average of 7.6 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Boise is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Wednesday. They fell 13-10 to Nampa. Even though they lost, the Brave's still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.2 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Alixon Rodriguez -Aponte was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Bo Schaaf was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Owyhee didn't have quite enough to beat Timberline on Tuesday and fell 4-3. The loss was the Storm's first of the season.

Owyhee saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gage Haws, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Boise's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Owyhee, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 16-1.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Boise has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Owyhee struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Boise might still be hurting after the 8-0 loss they got from Owyhee when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Brave avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
