Baseball Game Preview: Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences Vipers vs. Grant Lancers

The Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences Vipers will square off against the Grant Lancers at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences' hitters haven't had much luck over their past five matchups, but Wednesday's contest will give them a chance to turn things around.

Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences fell victim to Chavez and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles.

The home team had won the previous two meetings between Grant and Monroe, and Monroe kept the tradition alive. Grant fell just short of Monroe by a score of 8-6 on Friday.

Matthew Gonzalez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Jose Cuevas, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Grant has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-3 record this season. Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences' defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.
