Volleyball Recap: James Logan Finds Playoff Glory Versus Del Oro

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but James Logan had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Del Oro Golden Eagles 3-2. Winning may never get old, but the Colts sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was James Logan who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 19-25, 25-21, 16-25, 15-12.

McKenzie Anderson paced James Logan's offense, picking up 24 kills. Anderson got some help from Leann Jung and her 50 assists. Emma Tran controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Lily Smith and Zoe Jewett certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Smith had 25 digs and four assists, while Jewett had seven digs and three aces. Smith has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more digs the last four times she's played.

James Logan's win bumped their record up to 28-8. As for Del Oro, their loss ended a three-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 27-12.

James Logan wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against Buchanan on the 15th. Del Oro does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
