Preview: Annenberg Panthers vs. Aspire Ollin Jaguars
Annenberg is 2-8 against Aspire Ollin since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Annenberg Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Aspire Ollin Jaguars at 4:00 p.m. Annenberg is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
Annenberg suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Wednesday. They were dealt a 79-33 defeat at the hands of Downtown Magnets. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Annenberg has suffered against Downtown Magnets since December 10, 2018.
Meanwhile, Aspire Ollin was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Wednesday as they fell 59-53 to Orthopaedic. Aspire Ollin has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Christopher Gomez, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ismael Osuna, who scored 16 points along with two steals.
Annenberg's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Aspire Ollin, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.
Annenberg came up short against Aspire Ollin when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 49-38. Can Annenberg avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
