Baseball Recap: Itasca Snags Seventh Victory in Last Eight Games

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Itasca had no problem doing just that on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Riesel Indians 8-7. This was a revenge game for the Wampus Cats: when they faced off against the Indians on Thursday, they had to take a 2-1 defeat.

Buddy Jackson was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Caden Littlejohn was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Itasca has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. As for Riesel, their loss dropped their record down to 9-7-2.

Itasca will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Indians: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
