Baseball Game Preview: Norfolk Academy Bulldogs vs. Green Run Stallions

The Norfolk Academy Bulldogs will challenge the Green Run Stallions at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Norfolk Academy will be strutting in after a victory while Green Run will be coming in after a loss.

Norfolk Academy will bounce into Tuesday's match after beating Norfolk Christian, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Bulldogs came out on top in a nail-biter against the Ambassadors on Thursday, sneaking past 4-2. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Ambassadors: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, Green Run was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They took a 15-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hedgesville. On the bright side, the ten- run effort marked the Stallions' highest-scoring game to date.

Tameron Campbell put in work while hitting and pitching. He tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Campbell was even better at the plate, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 2-for-3. Those home runs marked the first that he has launched this season.

Campbell wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Nick Logsdon, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. CJ Jones was another, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Norfolk Academy's victory bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Green Run, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.

Everything went Norfolk Academy's way against Green Run in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Norfolk Academy made off with a 6-0 win. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Stallions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
