Recap: Philo Electrics vs. Tri-Valley Scotties
The Philo Electrics's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Tri-Valley 76-41. While losing is never fun, Philo can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 623rd, while Tri-Valley is ranked 116th).
Philo's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Talon Preston, who scored 11 points along with three steals, and Rusty Trout who scored 11 points along with five rebounds. The game was Preston's fourth in a row with at least ten points.
Philo's defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-3. As for Tri-Valley, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Philo will be home for the holidays to greet John Glenn at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully John Glenn focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday. Tri-Valley will be home for the holidays to greet Maysville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Maysville is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
