Basketball Recap: Ben Lippen Comes Up Short

Ben Lippen was the 43-29 winner over Northside Christian Academy when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Ben Lippen Falcons took a 51-36 bruising from the Northside Christian Academy Crusaders on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 89th, while the Crusaders are ranked 35th).

Northside Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Chaelyn Tifre, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 20 boards. Those 20 rebounds gave Tifre a new career-high. Campbell Childers was another key player, putting up 16 points and four steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Ben Lippen and nudges their season record down to 9-6. As for Northside Christian Academy, the win keeps them at an undefeated 16-0.

Ben Lippen didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 57-14 victory against Providence Athletic Club on the 16th. As for Northside Christian Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Augusta Christian at 6:00 p.m. Augusta Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
