Jefferson lost against Gaither back in March of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Jefferson Dragons fell victim to a tough 7-1 defeat at the hands of the Gaither Cowboys. Jefferson has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Ja'Marques Benton made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
On Gaither's side, they got a great performance from Michael Fernandez as he didn't allow a single earned run and only one hit while striking out ten over six innings pitched.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on SJ Branhan, who went 2-for-3 with a home run and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Choe, who scored a run while going 4-for-4.
