Those three runs gave Dyreng a new career-high.
In other batting news, Daxton Knudsen was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. He has become a key player for Gunnison Valley: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Waylon Sorenson, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two doubles and one RBI.
Gunnison Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Gunnison Valley's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-5. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Duchesne, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.
Gunnison Valley couldn't quite get it done against Duchesne in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 6-3. Can Gunnison Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
