Basketball Recap: Joshua Scott's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Richmond Hill over Lowndes

Richmond Hill lost against Lowndes back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Richmond Hill Wildcats fell just short of the Lowndes Vikings by a score of 54-51. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 259th, while the Vikings are ranked 73rd).

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Joshua Scott, who went 8-for-15 to rack up 16 points along with eight boards and three steals. Amari Jordan was another key player, putting up ten points and four steals.

Even though they lost, Richmond Hill was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Lowndes was led to victory by Isaiah Camon and Kaiden Brown. Camon went 8-for-13 on his way to 20 points, while Brown posted nine points and seven rebounds. That's the most points Camon has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Ferguson, who scored seven points.

Richmond Hill's loss dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Lowndes, their victory bumped their record up to 14-9.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Lowndes beat Richmond Hill by a score of 44-42 on Friday.
