Basketball Recap: Staunton River Takes a Loss

After flying high against Craig County last Saturday, Staunton River came back down to earth. The Staunton River Golden Eagles took a blow against the Abingdon Falcons on Monday, falling 89-53. The Golden Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2018.

Staunton River's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Abingdon, they moved to 3-4 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Staunton River will take on Lord Botetourt at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Abingdon, they will square off against John Battle at 8:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
