Basketball Game Preview: Northwest Area Rangers vs. Muncy Indians

The Northwest Area Rangers just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Muncy Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Northwest Area: 27.2, Muncy: 23) so any points scored will be well earned.

On Thursday, Northwest Area lost to Southern Columbia Area on the road by a 44-29 margin.

Meanwhile, Muncy waltzed into their matchup on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Red Raiders 60-2. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 270th, while the Red Raiders are ranked 713th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Northwest Area's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-4. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.4 points over those games. As for Muncy, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-4.
