Winfield came tearing into Saturday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Sipsey Valley Bears get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory. The Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by seven runs or more this season.

Winfield pushed their record up to 14-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Sipsey Valley, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-17.

Coincidentally, Winfield and Sipsey Valley will both be playing Northridge the next time they take the field. The Pirates will head out to face the Jaguars at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Bears will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
