Baseball Game Preview: Geneseo Maple Leafs vs. Dunlap Eagles

The Geneseo Maple Leafs will face off against the Dunlap Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Neither Geneseo nor Dunlap posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Geneseo and Galesburg had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Maple Leafs fell just short of the Silver Streaks by a score of 2-1 on Wednesday. The Maple Leafs haven't had much luck with the Silver Streaks recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Dunlap had taken East Peoria down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Wednesday. The Eagles fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 3-2.

Dunlap saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brett Alkire, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Geneseo's loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Dunlap, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 15-4.
