Basketball Recap: Indian Creek Beats South Putnam for Their Third Straight Victory

Indian Creek had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 63-57 W against the South Putnam Eagles. Things were looking grim for the Braves in the first quarter (they were down by 20) but they stormed back to get the game.

Indian Creek's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Landon Sichting led the charge by dropping a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Sichting's big performance that evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Adam Crouch, who posted 11 points and four steals.

South Putnam's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isaac Garner, who shot 58% from the field on his way to 19 points and five assists. Cam Bozell was another key player, putting up 12 points and eight boards.

Indian Creek's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.7 points over those games. As for South Putnam, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-15.
