Softball Recap: Central Gets the Win

Central posted their closest win since February 28th on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past the La Quinta Blackhawks 3-2. For the Spartans, this counts as revenge for the 7-4 victory the Blackhawks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2022.

Yanely Felix made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over 5.1 innings pitched. Felix was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.

Felix wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Leah Plancarte, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Central's win bumped their record up to 5-7-1. As for La Quinta, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-5.

Looking ahead, Central will square off against Brawley at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for La Quinta, they will face off against Rancho Mirage at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
