Preview: Southwind vs. Brighton
Southwind have had a week off and are no doubt ready to get back on the field. They will look to defend their home turf on Friday against Brighton at 7:00 PM. If the match is anything like the 49-48 finish from the last time they met, the scorekeeper will be kept real busy.
After a string of three wins, Southwind's good fortune finally ran out two weeks ago. They ended up on the wrong side of a painful 14-39 walloping at Kirby's hands. This game was a close 14-17 at the break, but unfortunately for Southwind it sure didn't stay that way.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 42 points the game before, Brighton faltered in their contest two weeks ago. They were completely outmatched, falling 0-40 to Ridgeway. Brighton were down by 0-33 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
The last time the two teams met, Southwind and Brighton were almost perfectly matched up the last time the two teams met, but Southwind suffered an agonizing 48-49 loss. The defeat knocked Southwind out of the playoffs, so expect them to come at Brighton with a vengeful fire.
