Basketball Recap: Severn Run Takes a Loss

Severn Run lost against Southern back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Severn Run were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 58-57 to the Southern Bulldogs. Severn Run has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Severn Run's loss came despite strong showings from Solomon St. Bernard and Jayden Gonzalez. St. Bernard went 6 of 7 en route to 21 points, while Gonzalez almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards. Gonzalez's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Ricco Gough was another key player, putting up five points.

Severn Run's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Southern, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.

Severn Run has already played their next match (against South River), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Southern will take on Chesapeake on Friday. Southern has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 2-1 during that stretch of close contests.
