Softball Recap: Masuk Extends Road Winning Streak to 24

Masuk faced Waterford in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Panthers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-0 victory over the Lancers. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Lancers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

The result came thanks to Julia Bacoulis's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 14 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Masuk saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ciena Perpetuo, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Masuk's victory was their 24th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-1-1. As for Waterford, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-3.

Looking ahead, Masuk will face off against New Fairfield at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Waterford, they will venture away from home to face off against Stonington at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
