Lexington waltzed into their contest on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Their defense stepped up to hand the New Philadelphia Quakers a 10-0 shutout. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Lexington's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio soccer rankings (they are ranked 59th, while New Philadelphia are ranked 292nd).

Lexington's victory bumped their record up to 5-1-1. As for New Philadelphia, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Looking ahead, Lexington will venture away from home to face off against Ashland at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for New Philadelphia, they will face off against Cambridge at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
