Baseball Recap: El Dorado Takes a Loss

El Dorado's tournament run continued when they took on Seminole on Friday. The El Dorado Aztecs lost 13-7 to the Seminole Indians. The Aztecs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Aaron Gamez was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He is becoming a predictor of El Dorado's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 3-9 when he doesn't). Elijah Issa was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Even though they lost, El Dorado hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in five consecutive contests.

El Dorado's record now sits at 5-10. As for Seminole, their win bumped their record up to 11-3.

Coincidentally, El Dorado and Seminole will both be playing Lubbock-Cooper the next time they take the field. El Dorado will head out to face Lubbock-Cooper at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, while Seminole will play them later in the day, at 6:00 p.m.
