Baseball Recap: Torrey Pines Takes a Loss

Torrey Pines fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against San Pasqual on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the San Pasqual Golden Eagles by a score of 5-4. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Golden Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Jack Swanberg put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed five innings while giving up three earned runs off only two hits. Swanberg was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Swanberg wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ryder Young, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Liam Moran was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-5.

Torrey Pines now has a losing record of 1-2. As for San Pasqual, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

We've got a battle between Falcons coming up. As for San Pasqual, they will be taking part in a tournament against Patrick Henry at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Patrick Henry will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something San Pasqual surely won't give up without a fight.
