Baseball Game Preview: South Bulldogs vs. Africentric Early College Nubians

South is on a four-game streak of home losses, and Africentric Early College a seven-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Thursday. The South Bulldogs will welcome the Africentric Early College Nubians at 3:00 p.m. South has given up an average of 13.7 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

South blew Independence out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Monday Independence got their revenge. The Bulldogs fell just short of the 76ers by a score of 11-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Bulldogs have suffered since April 19, 2024.

South saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kellin Campbell, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with five stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. With that strong performance, Campbell is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game. Another was Ovanti Dennis, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 12 runs the game before, Africentric Early College was a bit more limited in their matchup back in April. They came up short against Eastmoor Academy, falling 20-1.

South's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Africentric Early College, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
