Baseball Recap: Austin Takes a Loss

Austin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 8-4 to the Russellville Golden Tigers. The Black Bears were not able to make up for their loss to the Golden Tigers from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Austin saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trey Harville, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Another was Bryant Jones, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Austin's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Russellville, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Austin wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 12-2 victory against Albertville on the 18th. As for Russellville, they have also already played their next contest, a 4-2 win against Florence on the 17th.
