Basketball Recap: Cole Camp Comes Up Short

Cole Camp lost against Crest Ridge back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Cole Camp Blue Birds lost 58-36 to the Crest Ridge Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Blue Birds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 463rd, while the Cougars are ranked 203rd).

It was another big night for Kayley Marten, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and 14 boards for Crest Ridge. Marten continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Brilynn Fleming was another key player, putting up 12 points and eight steals.

Cole Camp has traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season. Crest Ridge's win bumped their record up to 18-5.

Cole Camp has already played their next matchup (against Bunceton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Crest Ridge, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 47-34 victory against Sweet Springs on the 18th.
