Soccer Game Preview: Mount Vernon vs. Edison

The Mount Vernon Majors will head out on the road to take on the Edison Eagles at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Mount Vernon fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Patriot on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Pioneers by a score of 2-1.

Meanwhile, Edison was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against Hayfield, falling 4-1.

Mount Vernon's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7-1. As for Edison, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10-1.

Mount Vernon suffered a grim 4-1 defeat to Edison in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Can the Majors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
