Softball Recap: Del Oro Takes a Loss

Del Oro came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 19-1 to the Mira Monte Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-5 back in March.

Del Oro saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anali Martinez, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Del Oro has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season. As for Mira Monte, the victory snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 5-9 record.

While Del Oro had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
