Basketball Recap: San Jacinto's Run of Three Straight Wins Now Over

It was a good run, but San Jacinto unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They received a blow as they fell 60-45 to the Calexico Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 816th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 330th).

Despite the loss, San Jacinto still got an impressive performance from Josiah Mejia, who went 7 of 11 en route to 22 points. The game was Mejia's fourth in a row with at least ten points.

San Jacinto now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Calexico, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-3.

San Jacinto wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 56-48 victory against Valley Center on the 28th. Calexico has also already played their next contest, a 52-48 win against Indio on the 28th.
