Soccer Game Preview: Stone Memorial vs. Franklin County

The Stone Memorial Panthers are taking a road trip to take on the Franklin County Rebels at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.

Stone Memorial is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to five goals on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Cumberland County on Friday. They lost 4-1 to the Jets. The loss continues a trend for Stone Memorial in their meetings with Cumberland County: they've now lost four in a row.

Meanwhile, Franklin County made easy work of Central Magnet on Thursday and carried off a 4-1 win. The result was nothing new for Franklin County, who have now won seven matches by three goals or more so far this season.

Franklin County's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-5-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 29 goals over those seven contests. As for Stone Memorial, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-4.

Stone Memorial might still be hurting after the 4-0 loss they got from Franklin County in their previous meeting back in March of 2023. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
