Basketball Recap: John Battle Comes Up Short

John Battle was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 54-48 heartbreaker at the hands of the Gate City Blue Devils. The Trojans were not able to make up for their loss to the Blue Devils from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

John Battle's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Gate City, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 3-4 record this season.

John Battle will venture away from home to square off against Abingdon at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Abingdon's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five contests. As for Gate City, they will host Lee at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
