Basketball Recap: Indianapolis Bishop Chatard Takes a Loss

Indianapolis Bishop Chatard was the 58-51 winner over Indianapolis Lutheran when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Indianapolis Bishop Chatard Trojans took a 55-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Indianapolis Lutheran Saints.

Despite the defeat, Indianapolis Bishop Chatard saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ari Sahm went 8-for-10 on his way to 18 points and five assists. The dominant performance also gave Sahm a new career-high in field goal percentage (80%). Another player making a difference was Alexander Lake, who posted nine points and five rebounds.

Even though they lost, Indianapolis Bishop Chatard was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. This was only their tenth loss (out of 13 games) when they've passed the ball that well.

Indianapolis Lutheran's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was TJ Clark, who went 6-for-10 en route to 17 points and four steals. Clark has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lj Ward, who went 7-for-15 to rack up 15 points and four steals.

Indianapolis Bishop Chatard has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season. The win made it two in a row for Indianapolis Lutheran and bumps their season record up to 5-14.

Coming up, Indianapolis Bishop Chatard will challenge Indianapolis Arsenal Technical at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Indianapolis Arsenal Technical's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests. As for Indianapolis Lutheran, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 62-46 victory against Monrovia on the 22nd.
