Basketball Game Preview: Unioto Shermans vs. Adena Warriors

The Unioto Shermans will square off against the Adena Warriors at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Thursday, everything came up roses for Unioto against Huntington as the squad secured a 66-30 victory. The Shermans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 28 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Adena had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They took down the Bearcats 36-22. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 277th, while the Bearcats are ranked 692nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Unioto's win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-4. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 38.5 points. As for Adena, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Unioto against Adena in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as the team secured a 79-40 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Unioto since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
