Forreston is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Pearl City is on a six-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Cardinals will welcome the Wolves at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Forreston will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
Forreston is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Orangeville 22-3 on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Cardinals, who have now won 13 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Carson Akins made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in nine consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and four runs. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Forreston got a massive performance out of Kendall Erdmann, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave Erdmann a new career-high. Darin Greenfield was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Forreston was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .619. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .323 or higher in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Pearl City was not the first on the board on Saturday, but they got there more often. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past East Dubuque 4-3. The game was the first time the Wolves have beaten the Warriors on their field since April 9, 2019.
Pearl City saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Runkle, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Another was Brody Voegeli, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double.
Forreston is on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 18 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Pearl City, their victory bumped their record up to 13-8.
Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Forreston hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .332. However, it's not like Pearl City struggles in that department as they've averaged .341. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Forreston was able to grind out a solid win over Pearl City in their previous matchup back in March of 2023, winning 5-1. Will the Cardinals repeat their success, or do the Wolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
