Softball Recap: Falkner Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against New Site, Falkner was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-8 win over Tremont. Falkner's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

The team relied heavily on Kady Duncan, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Emma Mauney, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Falkner lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Falkner's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Tremont, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Falkner will take on Biggersville at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Tremont, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Thrasher at 5:00 p.m. on the 17th.
