Basketball Recap: Fayetteville Comes Up Short

Fayetteville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They were outmatched by the Autauga Academy Generals and fell 68-40. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 78-58 back in December of 2024.

Fayetteville's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of JB Buttram, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds, and Landon Thomas, who posted 12 points. Buttram has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more boards the last three times he's played.

Fayetteville's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Autauga Academy, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-9.

Fayetteville has already played their next match, a 50-43 defeat against Ranburne on the 24th. As for Autauga Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 51-33 victory against Verbena on the 24th.
