Basketball Recap: Westminster Schools of Augusta Continues Road Dominance on Tuesday

While Westminster Schools of Augusta didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They managed a 52-46 win over the Pinewood Christian Patriots on Tuesday. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 219th, while the Patriots are ranked 490th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, Pinewood Christian still got an impressive performance from Banks Hearn, who posted 27 points. That was a full 58.7% of Pinewood Christian's points, marking the 11th time in a row he's scored more than a third of the team's points. Jordan Kinlaw was another key player, putting up ten points.

Westminster Schools of Augusta pushed their record up to 8-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.7 points per game. As for Pinewood Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.

Westminster Schools of Augusta will challenge Frederica Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Pinewood Christian, they will square off against David Emanuel Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
