Kodi Crabtree made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, Torynn Slaughter was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with one home run. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Payton Crank, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
Pinnacle lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now launched at least three home runs in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Perry got the win against Chandler on Friday by a conclusive 13-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Pumas.
Brynlee Brassfield was incredible, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-3. That's the most home runs she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of CC Hall, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Pinnacle's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-6-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Perry, their victory bumped their record up to 15-12.
Monday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Pinnacle hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .350. However, it's not like Perry struggles in that department as they've averaged .376. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Pinnacle beat Perry 12-9 in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Do the Pioneers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pumas turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
