Basketball Recap: North Canyon Takes a Loss

North Canyon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Paradise Valley Trojans, falling 59-24. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rattlers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 61-40 back in December of 2024.

Paradise Valley was led to victory by Neha Patel and Olivia Kollie. Patel posted 26 points in addition to six boards and three steals, while Kollie dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Patel has scored at least a third of Paradise Valley's points. Kaitlyn Jimmy was another key player, putting up five points and five steals.

North Canyon's loss dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Paradise Valley, their record is now 9-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Canyon will challenge North at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North's defense has only allowed 27.3 points per game this season, so North Canyon's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Paradise Valley, they will take on Desert Edge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
