Softball Game Preview: Varina Blue Devils vs. Mechanicsville Mustangs + Official Tickets

Varina is 0-10 against Mechanicsville since May of 2018 but things could change on Monday. The Blue Devils will look to defend their home field against the Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Varina came up short against J.R. Tucker on Thursday, falling 15-5.

Julia Anderson was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Aniya Newton was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 20 runs the game before, Mechanicsville was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They lost 11-2 to Atlee.

Mechanicsville saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reese Hagen, who went 3-for-4 with one double.
