Baseball Recap: La Jolla Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

La Jolla waltzed into their matchup on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Scripps Ranch Falcons. This was payback for the Vikings, who suffered a 7-3 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Charlie Smith spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on eight hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, La Jolla's victory was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Carter Strauss, who went 1-for-4 with one run.
